We provide customized application development service for the College of Social & Behavioral Sciences and its units. The Application development team, along with management will evaluate your request and reach out to you. Please note, due to limited staffing, projects with an increased college level impact will be given precedence.

Computer Services

SBS Tech's Desktop Support group is committed to providing the best quality service for university owned equipment including but not limited to computer configuration, hardware and software installation, virus detection and cleaning, imaging, troubleshooting and technology purchase recommendations.

Digital Signage

The imaginative minds of SBSTech have been actively working on the development of Digital Signage to enhance the digital presence of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences and its units. There will be several templates to choose from which will include content from department news, events, videos and slideshows. Digital signage content management will be similar to department website content maintenance. Digital signage in department lobbies will help keep students and visitors informed and will allow each unit to showcase their latest department info, videos, slideshows, news, calendar and events. E-Commerce Support

We offer e-commerce set up and support to help you manage events, conferences and workshops. We use EventBrite and RegOnline to manage your reservations and payment collection. Ranging from simple free events to more complicated paid events, we support customized development of e-commerce systems to best suit your needs.

Equipment & Room Reservation

SBSTech offers equipment and conference room reservations to SBS College faculty and staff.

Due to limited availability, we strongly encourage you to submit conference room reservations early.

Equipment must be reserved at least 3 business days in advance but no more than 1 month in advance. Equipment may be borrowed for 3 business days. Longer periods will be reviewed on a case by case basis.

Purchasing

SBS Tech is responsible for purchasing items requested by faculty and staff in the College. Our technicians use their vast knowledge to research items faculty and staff are interested in purchasing and give their best support and advice to help determine what type of products would work best for them. SBS Tech purchases items through companies with whom we have long-term business relationships. These vendors are preferred over others because they have quality controlled products and they have enterprise centers that can provide fast support if there is ever a problem with your purchase. Equipment purchasing requests should be submitted through ticketdog.arizona.edu.

Research and Grant Proposal Support

SBSTech Helps PI Develop Grant Proposals. SBSTech can assist with budget justification and data management plans in your grant proposal. Involving SBSTech early in grant writing and other research planning activities will help identify the technology resources you will need including recommendations and pricing for hardware and software, data management and storage plans, and/or data sharing limitations that could potentially affect your project’s description. Please contact us as early as possible, even if you just want to discuss a proposal idea.

Research and Instruction

We are happy to offer consulting services for research labs, instructional labs and conference rooms in addition to equipment recommendations for grant proposals and UA Campus software support.

SBSTech Studios

Built by the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, SBSTech Studios will provide hands-on learning for students, support for online instruction, and help create compelling visual stories for students, faculty and staff promoting and sharing their learning and research.

Located in the Computer Services Building, Rm 236J (1077 N Highland Ave., Tucson AZ 85721), the 574 sq. ft. SBSTech Studios is divided into three main areas: a green screen space, interview/panel discussion set and a photography booth. Attached to the studio is a control room and an audio recording room, which includes sound absorption material on the walls and professional audio recording equipment.

Support your course curriculum that involves video production and multimedia experience or simply record a lecture audio/video for your teaching (We have professional audio/video equipment including HD TV, cameras and a teleprompter!);
